I think that you undersell the utility of autopilot. Anyone who drives a lot of miles on highways can get a huge benefit today from that functionality, especially when paired with the fact that electric vehicles have lower maintenance over hundreds of thousands of miles. It is true that all the other electric cars will likely hold up similarly well for many miles, but they don’t give the benefits of autonomy today. Honestly, I think that if more people could experience what it is like to use autopilot they would give Tesla’s a lot more consideration.

Granted, I do think that in the long run, the goal is transportation as a service with level 5 robotaxis, but Tesla is as close as you can get to that today.
